Truck Suspension Maker Expanding In Dyer County

CREATED Jul 2, 2014

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Officials said that Rough Country Suspension Systems, a company that makes suspension products for trucks and SUVs, plans to move its distributions operations to a facility in Newbern.

Governor Bill Haslam, Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty and the Dyersburg-based company announced Monday that the expansion will allow Rough Country to more than double the size of its workforce as well as its Dyer County footprint.

With a goal of being fully operational by late August, Rough Country's plans include investment of $1.5 million and the creation of up to 200 new jobs over the next five years.

The Newbern facility will house Rough Country's primary packaging and assembly operation as well as its primary distribution point for finished-goods inventory.
