Father Charged In Crash That Injured 2-Year-Old Son
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Nashville father has been charged in a crash that injured his 2-year-old son.
Metropolitan Nashville Police were called to a reported vehicle crash along Ellington Parkway around 1:15 a.m. Monday. They found the vehicle crashed into the right guardrail with airbags deployed, but the driver was not on scene.
They soon spotted 29-year-old Nathaniel Dile walking along Ellington Parkway near Spring Street with his young son.
Officers said he had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and admitted to taking some painkillers earlier in the evening. He allegedly told officers had had been shot and stabbed in the past, and was taking the pills for the pain.
Once Dile was medically cleared at the hospital, police took him into custody.
He was charged with vehicular assault and driving on a revoked license, second offense.
