Pedestrian Critically Injured When Struck By Vehicle
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday night in south Nashville.
The incident was reported around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Nolensville Pike and Timmons Street.
Metropolitan Nashville Police said a Ford vehicle was traveling north on Nolensville Road when it struck the pedestrian in the inside northbound lane. The driver told police he did not see the pedestrian before the collision.
The pedestrian was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The victim's name was not immediately released.
Police said it did not appear the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.
It was unclear which way the pedestrian was crossing.
The crash remained under investigation.
