NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The search is on for those behind a brazen carjacking at gunpoint that left a handicapped woman, her daughter and her five-year-old granddaughter fearing for their lives.

The alleged incident happened Friday night in North Nashville. The family said after a quick trip to the store they returned to their home, where three or four men in black masks came out from behind the bushes with a gun, ordering the woman and her daughter to the ground.

They said they were able to get the five-year old out of their SUV before the thieves drove off in it, taking the family's credit cards, identification and purses with them.

Metro Police are looking into it but that provides little comfort from the thought of what the family said happened right in their own driveway.

“Who wants to live like that?” said Brenda Suggs, one of the carjacking victims. “One mistake could have been the end of our lives.”

Metro Police took a report and dusted for fingerprints.

The family said the suspects got away in a gold colored 1999 Lexus four-door SUV.

If you know more about who might have taken the car, call Metro Police at 74-CRIME.
