Convicted Felon Wanted For Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A warrant has been issued for a convicted felon accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said 36-year-old Maurice Coleman is accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend Wednesday night after she attempted to retrieve her car from him.
Police said the alleged victim had just gotten into the car when the suspect reportedly forced her out of the vehicle and into the front passenger seat.
He then allegedly drove her to 7th Avenue North and Monroe Street where police said he stopped the car, pulled the victim out and threw her to the ground, before reportedly striking her in the face. The suspect was said to have fled the scene on foot.
The victim was transported to St. Thomas Midtown Hospital for treatment.
