Nashville Little League Team Raising Money For State Tournament Bid

CREATED Jun 25, 2014

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A group of little league players in Nashville are making a run for the State Tournament and hopefully the World Series but they need some big help to get there.

The Parkwood Players have been working double time on and off the baseball diamond. They're part of the Dixie Youth Little League and are ready to take a road trip to the state tournament. So they're working a game plan off the field with fundraisers.

"For some this might be their first time out of Nashville. Maybe their only time. This is their summer vacation. We're not going to Florida we're not going to the beach. We're going to Roane County Tennessee to play for a state championship," said Roger Left.

For the first time, there are two age groups from their team ranging from five and six-year olds to seven and eight-year-olds.

The Nashville Parkwood Players need money for transportation, their hotel rooms and meals. They will compete in the state tourney next month in Kingston and the winners move on to the World Series.
