TBI Investigating Woman’s Body Found In Millersville

CREATED Jun 24, 2014
MILLERSVILLE, Tenn. – Authorities have asked for help identifying a woman whose body was found along the side of the road in a rural area of Sumner County on Monday morning.

Around 10 a.m., Millersville's Fire Chief was driving along Woody Lane when he spotted the body in a ditch. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was called to assist Millersville Police.

The cause of death was not immediately released, but authorities suspected foul play. The victim was described a middle-aged African American woman, but her identity has not been confirmed.

Neighbors said it's scary to think someone could have dumped a body so close to their homes.

"I moved out here to get some peace and quiet, but it is a very rural area and it gets dark at night and there is a main thoroughfare right around this turn where the body was," said Bob Wolf.

Authorities wrapped up their investigation just before 4 p.m. Monday.

If you know anything about the woman or how she died, call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
