Springfield Police Investigate Multiple Shootings
SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. – Springfield Police are investigating several separate shootings where the victims showed up at the hospital with injuries on Sunday.
Officers were first called to NorthCrest Hospital around 2:15 a.m. Sunday for a victim with a gunshot wound. The victim, 30-year-old Roderick D. Dickerson of Springfield, told police he was shot at the projects on 15th Street. He then refused to provide officers with any more information, and said he did not want to make a report or prosecute anyone for the shooting.
Around 2:30 a.m., another victim showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound. The female victim had been shot in the leg, and told officers she had been shot in Guthrie, Kentucky. Officers believe the shooting happened in Montgomery County at a party where 23-year-old Ralphthaniel Magee was killed. Another woman was also hurt. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was investigating that shooting.
Then around 8:15 p.m., officers were again called to NorthCrest for another gunshot wound where 29-year-old Ronald J. Raguse, of Greenbrier, had suffered a gunshot wound to his left leg.
He told officers that he had gone to the area of Blair Street and Carter Street to purchase drugs. He got out of his car to meet someone he knew, and that person allegedly accused him of talking about him on the street.
The suspect allegedly pulled out a gun and fired at Raguse. He was struck in the leg, and drove himself to the hospital.
Police were searching for the shooter.
