Authorities Identify Person Of Interest In Deadly Party Shooting
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Authorities said they were working to locate a person of interest in a shooting a party in Montgomery County that left one man dead and two women injured.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office did not identify the person of interest, but said the person has Kentucky and Tennessee ties.
Investigators said "Big D’s Birthday Bash” was held on Edlin Street inside a public venue in Montgomery County near the Tennessee/Kentucky state line. During the early morning hours of Sunday, a fight broke out, escalated, and moved outside the building.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said they believe two or three people began shooting. Killed was 23-year-old Ralphthaniel Magee of Springfield.
Two women were grazed by bullets and drove themselves to local hospitals for treatment.
Officials believe many of the people at the party were from the Springfield area in Robertson County.
Multiple agencies were involved in the investigation.
“When something like this happens, our investigative team works long, exhaustive hours to get all the facts and make an arrest as quickly as possible,” said Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson. “The investigation is still very sensitive and ongoing at this time, so we aren't able to release any additional information.”
