THP Says 2014 Was One Of Safest Bonnaroo Weekends
MANCHESTER, Tenn. – The Tennessee Highway Patrol said this year was one of the safest Bonnaroo weekends they have ever worked.
Troopers investigated 11 crashes in and around the festival in Manchester over the six-day period. None of them were fatal.
“Our troopers did a great job managing the heavy volume of traffic on Interstate 24 and the surrounding roadways. Our hard work paid off and we are able to say there were zero fatalities this festival weekend," said THP Colonel Tracy Trott.
Troopers also issued 127 citations, including 40 moving violations and 87 non-moving violations. That includes 10 people who were cited for driving under the influence with one cited for the open container law.
In 2013, troopers worked 17 crashes, including one fatal, three injury and 13 property damage wrecks.
