Man Wanted In Ohio Had Been Serving Prison Sentence In Nashville

CREATED Jun 19, 2014
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man wanted in Ohio has been found in Nashville after running from authorities for four years.

Metropolitan Nashville Police said 26-year-old Robert Jones had actually been serving a six-year prison sentence following his 2012 conviction on aggravated burglary and theft charges.

When he was in the process of being released on Wednesday, police discovered he had been wanted in Ohio since he failed to show up for a plea hearing in May 2010.

Metro Police said Jones has a criminal history in Nashville dating back to July 2010 with more than a dozen charges—including theft, burglary, probation violations, and stealing cars.

Authorities in Ohio have since contacted police about extraditing him back to their state as soon as possible.

Jones was being held at the Davidson County Jail on a fugitive from justice charge. His bond was set at $100,000.
