Police Capture Man Accused Of Opening Fire After Domestic Dispute

CREATED Jun 20, 2014
TULLAHOMA, Tenn. - Police in Tullahoma have captured a man accused of opening fire near some officers following a domestic dispute on Wednesday night.

Tullahoma Police took Shawn Michael Luce into custody just before 2 p.m. Thursday. Officers tackled him in a driveway following a foot pursuit. He was booked into the Coffee County Jail.

It all started around 11 p.m. Wednesday when Tullahoma Police officers responded to a call about a domestic dispute near Normandy Road. When they got on the scene, they learned Luce and a woman had gotten into an argument inside a car. He allegedly got out, and left with the keys and two firearms.

While officers were interviewing the alleged victim, they heard about six shots fired nearby. An officer along with the victim moved to a nearby parking lot at Normandy Road and Flower Town Road. About a half hour later, more shots were fired in rapid succession.

No one was hurt.

Tullahoma Police along with the Coffee County Sheriff's Office and the Tennessee Highway Patrol began searching the area for Luce, including using the THP helicopter.

Police said that Luce has several warrants from Florida where he recently moved from to Tullahoma.
