Suspects Wanted For Shoplifting, Pepper Spraying Store Employee

MADISON, Tenn. – Police have asked for help from the public to identify four suspects they said shoplifted several bags worth of merchandise from a Madison store and pepper sprayed a store employee.

Four suspects were seen walking into the Academy Sports at 2350 Gallatin Pike in Madison around 9:30 p.m. Friday. The suspects included three women and one man.

The man grabbed a can of pepper spray from inside the store, and all four suspects took several plastic bags from a checkout stand. They then stuffed clothing and shoes into the pages.

Officials from the Metro Nashville Police Department said when a loss prevention officers tried to stop the suspects from leaving the store without paying, the male pepper strayed him.

The suspects then fled the scene in a black newer model Ford Mustang with gold stripes on the side and bottom.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspects.
