Former THP Sergeant Charged With Patronizing Prostitute
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A former sergeant with the Tennessee Highway Patrol has been charged with patronizing a prostitute near a school zone.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said 45-year-old Daniel Threet, of Cookeville, surrendered himself Saturday morning, after being indicted by a Davidson County Grand Jury.
Threet has been accused of allegedly patronizing a prostitute on Stainback Avenue on January 31. Police said he had driven to Nashville in a state vehicle and was allegedly dressed in uniform.
Authorities became aware of the alleged incident during another investigation.
Threet resigned from the THP after being placed on leave as a result of the case.
Bond was set at $1,000.
