Police Search For Hermitage Bank Robbery Suspect

HERMITAGE, Tenn. – Police have asked the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a bank robbery in Hermitage.

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said the robbery was reported just after 1 p.m. Tuesday, at Fifth Third Bank located on Old Hickory Boulevard. 

The suspect entered the bank with pantyhose over his face, a satchel over his shoulder and an open umbrella in his hand. Police said he placed an item on the counter that he claimed was a bomb and demanded an undisclosed amount of money from the teller. 

The bomb squad was called in to examine the object and the device was deemed to be a hoax. Police said no one was hurt during the incident. 

The suspect was described by police as being a middle aged, white male just over 6-feet-tall with blonde hair. 

Officials with the Federal Bureau of Investigation have been called in to assist with the investigation.
