Husband And Wife Wanted In Police Impersonation Case

CREATED Jun 13, 2014
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Investigators are now looking for a husband and wife team wanted for impersonating police and robbing a victim.

Warrants had already been issued for the arrest of 31-year-old Charles Virgil Thompson II. Friday, Metro police named Thompson's wife, Sabrina Thompson as accomplice in the case.

Officials said a man claiming to be a police officer stopped a man and demanded his wallet last Wednesday morning. He took the victim’s ATM card and attempted to withdraw money.

Surveillance video captured an image of the suspect at the ATM. Police asked the public for help in identifying the man, who they say was Thompson.

He was also suspected of using an interior flashing blue light in his vehicle to follow and pull over another victim a week earlier on Murfreesboro Pike.

Police said Thompson was positively identified in both incidents. They say Thompson's wife was with him at the time.

She is wanted on charges of criminal impersonation, false imprisonment and theft. She has a past conviction for drug possession.

Charles Thompson is wanted for robbery. He has a criminal history, with previous convictions for unlawful gun possession, theft and drug possession.

Anyone with information about the couple's whereabouts has been asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME (615-742-7463).
