LP Field Performances Highlight Final Day Of CMA Fest

CREATED Jun 8, 2014
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Performances from artists such as Lady Antebellum and the Charlie Daniels Band highlighted the final concert at LP Field during this week’s CMA Music Festival.

Sunday night, fans were treated to incredible performances from other artists, including Brad Paisley, The Oak Ridge Boys, Hunter Hayes and the Zac Brown Band.

Group members of Lady Antebellum spoke shortly before the show about how the group has gone through several changes over the past several months. Hillary Scott had a baby last year and David Haywood's wife has one on the way.

Still, the group said it hasn’t changed their music.

"I was having a conversation with someone the other day and he brought up a great point. He said, ‘like I love that y’all [sic] put out a song with Hillary singing about a subject matter that maybe she's not there right now,' of course she's been there, just because she's had a baby doesn't mean she can't sing a song like bartender about getting over a heart break and doing that. That's so true, it's not like all of a sudden we're going to sing about diaper genies, babies, diaper genies," said Lady A group member Charles Kelley.

Fans who went to this year’s show were offered a chance to renew tickets for next year's CMA Fest. The LP Field shows in 2015 have been projected to sell out quickly.

As CMA Fest winds down, activity at the Nashville International Airport could see a significant increase in travelers as Country Music fans depart the area, while Bonnaroo fans arrive for the three day music festival in Manchester.
