Officer Spots Truck Going Wrong Way On I-65; Driver Arrested For DUI
FRANKLIN, Tenn. – A California man was arrested after a Franklin Police officer spotted him going the wrong way on Interstate 65 early Friday morning.
Franklin Police charged 35-year-old Christopher Unck, of Hollywood, with DUI, reckless driving, and violation of the implied consent law.
Around 3 a.m., an on-duty sergeant noticed a truck enter the northbound exit ramp from I-65 to McEwen Drive going the wrong way.
The sergeant watched the truck, which he said did not have its headlights on, get onto the interstate from the ramp going southbound in the northbound lanes.
When the officer turned on his lights and siren in an attempt to stop the truck, Unck allegedly continued down the interstate for about a mile before pulling over.
He was taken into custody, but has since been freed on $4,000 bond. A court date was set for June 19.
