'Guitars Of The Stars' Benefit Auction At CMA Music Festival
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Some folks at the CMA Music Festival got the chance to get their hands on some one-of-a-kind guitars, and help a good cause in the process.
American Idol winner Scotty McCreery kicked off the "Guitars of the Stars" Benefit Auction with a little music on Thursday.
Then fans had a chance to bid on specially designed guitars autographed by stars like Martina McBride, Reba McEntire and more.
It's the 6th year of the event, which always draws big crowds and can get a little competitive.
“We've had guitars bring over $15,000 for a specific guitar-- Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton. There are people who come every year with big money, and usually they know who they are; they are friendly adversaries and bid against each other,” said auction host Bill Cody.
The auction raises money for the "Opry Trust Fund," which assists musicians in need.
