NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A 27-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly hitting a security guard with his car outside a Nashville bar, and then speeding off from the scene.
Metropolitan Nashville Police took Adrian Mohammed into custody after the incident early Thursday morning at Donk’s Bar and Grill on West Trinity Lane.
An affidavit said Mohammad began fighting with a bartender over his bar tab around 1 a.m. Once security escorted him out, he allegedly hit one of the guards with his SUV and then fled the scene.
The guard suffered a possible broken rib, according to medics who evaluated him on the scene.
An officer headed to the scene spotted the SUV less than a mile away from the scene, and stopped it.
Police said Mohammed seemed drunk, and he failed field sobriety tests. He allegedly admitted he drank a pitcher of beer and also said he was high.
Mohammed was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault, DUI, possession of a controlled substance, and driving with a suspended license.
His bond was set at $42,000.
