NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The CMA Music Festival doesn’t officially start until Thursday, but things kicked off Wednesday morning at the downtown Nashville Riverfront.
Seven artists took the stage for the CMA Music Festival Kick-Off Concert at the Chevrolet Riverfront Stage. The artists included Shooter Jennings, Marshall Tucker Band, Brazilbilly, Tim Hicks, Morgan Evans, Small Town Pistols, and Lindsay Ell.
Not even the threat of severe weather could dampen the spirits of Chris Watson and friends, who flew half-a-world away from Australia to be at this year’s festivities.
“The live music in the artist they have here in Nashville are phenomenal we just keep coming back because he can't get any better than this,” said Watson.
The CMA Music Festival officially begins Thursday with free music starting at stages all over downtown at 10 a.m., followed by the first nightly, sold-out concert at LP Field. It runs until Sunday with more free concerts each day, and the nightly concerts at LP Field.
