NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The second night of free concerts in downtown Nashville continued Tuesday with a long list of country artists at the benefit concert "Music City Gives Back."

Josh Thompson, Jana Kramer, Dustin Lynch, Rodney Atkins and Lee Brice performed for a large crowd at 1st Avenue and Lower Broadway.

“They shut the whole street down, it's a party. It's about this town supporting the fans, back. Giving them this huge, it really is like a great, week long show,” Thompson said.

This concert is a little different then the others country fans will see this week, but this concert has been giving back for the last four years.

“We didn't know what would happen and it's amazing that the people, they make it special, and a chance to give back, sing along and have fun.” explained concert host Rodney Atkins.

This year the W.O. Smith School of Music in Nashville will benefit from the generosity of country fans.

“Those kids are so incredible, this is hopefully something that will last a lifetime,” Atkins said.

Two ladies made the trip to Nashville from California to attend the CMT Music Awards Wednesday night. Even though they had only been in town a few hours, they were hooked on Music City.

“Love it, love it, can't wait to come back next year,” said Dee Remsing.
