Nashville Rape Suspect Taken Into Custody In Mt. Juliet
MT. JULIET, Tenn. – An alleged rape suspect wanted in Nashville was apprehended in Mt. Juliet on Monday afternoon.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said 20-year-old German Ricardo Gonzalez was taken into custody near the Davidson-Wilson County line.
Police said Gonzalez has been accused of raping a woman, who spent the night with a friend inside a house where he was also staying. The victim told authorities she woke up to find Gonzalez allegedly sexually assaulting her.
The victim screamed and he reportedly fled the scene in a yellow Mitsubishi Lancer.
According to investigators, he spotted a marked car on Rehnea Drive and fled the scene on foot.
A short time later, Mt. Juliet Police received a tip that he had been spotted in a wooded area near the Wilson-Davidson County line. He later surrendered himself to police.
Gonzalez has been charged with rape and booked in lieu of $50,000 bond.
