Baxter Man Charged With Aggravated Statutory Rape
JACKSON, Tenn. - A Baxter man has been arrested for allegedly having sex with a 15-year old in west Tennessee.
Cody Dunn was arraigned Friday morning in Jackson City Court on two counts of aggravated statutory rape.
On May 4, the teen's mother called authorities after finding out her daughter had spent the night with the 26-year old. Jackson Police learned Dunn and the girl were acquaintances who had met in Cookeville.
Investigators said Dunn traveled to Jackson and rented rooms at the Quality Inn on the nights of April 25 and May 3. The girl allegedly lied to her parents about where she was staying, and stayed with Dunn on those nights.
On Thursday, investigators learned Dunn was back in Jackson and was again staying at the Quality Inn. The U.S. Marshals Task Force took him into custody without incident.
He was transported to the Madison County Jail, where his bond was set at $25,000. The next court date was set for June 19.
