Telethon Raises More Than $2M For Children’s Miracle Network
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – More than $2 million was raised for the Children’s Miracle Network to benefit the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
For the last 30 years, NewsChannel 5 has hosted the annual telethon, which was held Sunday, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. inside the studios of NewsChannel 5.
Dozens of volunteers came out and worked together for the very worthy cause.
One of the aspects that stood out this year, was the incredible support from corporate sponsors. Walmart stores in Middle Tennessee, alone, donated $800,000 to the cause.
The Children's Miracle Networks includes Nashville’s Monroe Carrel Junior Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, which receives nearly 1,400 pediatric visits a day.
In 2013, $1.8 million was raised for the organization.
