Gallatin Man Charged With Aggravated Arson
GALLATIN, Tenn. – A 39-year-old Gallatin man was charged with aggravated arson after police said he set fire to a storage shed.
Gallatin Police arrested Johnny Thomas “Dink” Whited after finding him hiding in the bushes behind the home on Hite Street.
Officers said they had first been called out to the area after Whited allegedly threatened to “blow up” the resident of the home, but could not find him because he was on a cell phone and did not give an exact address.
About 45 minutes later, they were called back out to where Gallatin Fire Department was battling a fire that had engulfed a storage shed behind the home.
Investigators said there was also evidence that Whited had tried to set the home on fire.
Police later learned that Whited lived at the home with the person who he had threatened.
No one was hurt.
