Stewart Co. Mail Carrier Indicted On Theft, Misconduct Charges
STEWART COUNTY, Tenn. - A Stewart County mail carrier has been indicted for allegedly stealing items from mail she was supposed to deliver.
Cathleen E. Higgs was indicted by the May term of the Stewart County Grand Jury for theft of property and official misconduct.
The indictment said the 33-year-old stole mail, DVDs, gift cards, and more than $6,000 in currency from January 2011 to January 2014.
Both charges are felonies. Higgs was arrested on May 20, and later released on $10,000 bond. A court date was set for July 28.
