Family Of Six Displaced By House Fire In Murfreesboro
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - A family of six was displaced after fire seriously damaged their home in Murfreesboro on Monday night.
Firefighters were met with heavy smoke and flames coming from the back of the house when they arrived on Overhill Court just before 9 p.m.
The fire spread to the attic, and quickly burned the rest of the home. Crews were still putting out hot spots an hour and a half later.
The house suffered extensive fire damage, and the roof was destroyed.
Fortunately, the parents and their four children were able to make it out safely. The family’s pets were also saved.
The Red Cross was called out to help the family with a place to stay.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation by the Fire Marshal.
