Authorities: Man Brought In Hard Drive With Child Porn On It
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. – A convicted sex offender was arrested in Montgomery County after investigators said he brought them an external hard drive containing child pornography.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said 47-year-old James Dale Akins was already under investigation for possession of child pornography when he brought in an external hard drive for investigators to download work files from his personal computer that had been seized as evidence.
After Akins reportedly gave the lead investigator permission to view the files on the drive, investigators discovered 105 images of hardcore child porn on it.
Akins was charged with sexual exploitation of a minor and booked into the Montgomery County Jail. Bond was set at $50,000.
