More Tennesseans Travel Memorial Day Weekend

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Thousands of people have geared up for what is expected to be one of the busiest travel Memorial Day Weekends in years.

This year, 36.1 million Americans have been predicted to travel 50 miles or more this Memorial Day weekend.

Here in Tennessee, 54,248 people will travel by air, while 687,434 will travel by vehicle to get to their destination.

As for gas prices, drivers can expect to pay $3.47 a gallon, compared to $3.25 a gallon in 2013.

Construction projects will be eliminated over the three day weekend, resuming Tuesday morning.
