Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Tennessee, Kentucky
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for much of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky until 10 p.m.
The watch was issued just before 3 p.m. Thursday, for several counties in Middle Tennessee, including Davidson, Williamson, Wilson, Cheatham, Sumner, Rutherford, Montgomery, Robertson, Cannon, Smith, Overton and Fentress.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was also issued for several counties in Southern Kentucky, including Warren, Todd, Trigg, Muhlenberg and Christian.
NewsChannel 5 Meteorologist Lelan Statom said this weather system is not expected to be a widespread event. A few, isolated storms could be severe, with the possibility of hail and strong wind gusts.
As the evening progresses, the chance for storms will decrease across the area.
