Car Crashes Into Putnam County Elementary School
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – A man was injured Wednesday afternoon after he reportedly crashed a car into an elementary school in Putnam County.
Officials with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred just before 6 p.m. at Algood Elementary School in Cookeville.
The driver of the vehicle was said to be a 17-year-old male. His identity has not yet been released.
Investigators said he was believed to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.
The driver was transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center, where his injuries were unknown.
No one was inside the school at the time of the incident.
