Mt. Juliet Residents Allowed To Return Home After Gas Leak
MT. JULIET, Tenn. – Residents have been allowed to return to their homes after a gas leak forced several evacuations in Wilson County.
The leak was reported just before 3 p.m. Wednesday, along the 300 block of Dunwood Loop in Mt. Juliet.
Officials with the Mt. Juliet Police Department said construction crews were working in the Providence Landing subdivision, when a worker struck a gas line with a backhoe. A two-inch gas line was ruptured in the incident.
Residents in at least seven homes were forced to evacuate the area.
Crews were called out to the scene and worked quickly to repair the leak. After about 40 minutes, residents were allowed to return to their homes.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
