CREATED May 21, 2014

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A woman came back from out of town to find out someone had stolen several items from her home.

The victim told police she had someone feeding her cat while she was out of town, and the cat sitter had discovered someone else had been in the apartment and stolen several items, including a television.

The woman’s neighbor told police that she saw two men in the apartment, who told the neighbor they knew the resident and were staying in her apartment while she was out of town.

The neighbor was able to give a name of one of the two men, and identified him in a lineup. The victim was also shown a photo of the man, identified as 23-year-old Mark Borowiak, who said she did not know him and he did not have permission to be in her apartment.

Borowiak was charged with aggravated burglary and theft. His bond was set at $25,000.

The other man’s identity remained unknown.
