NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A convicted felon was arrested after police said he fired a shot and threatened to kill people in a Nashville neighborhood.
Officers were called to the neighborhood near 12th Avenue North when neighbors said they saw a man walking around with a semi-automatic handgun.
Once they got there, they found 42-year-old Dewayne Ellis Robinson Jr. standing next to a car, and the gun was at the base of a nearby tree.
Neighbors told police Robinson had fired a shot, but no one was hit. He does not live in the neighborhood, according to neighbors.
Robinson told police he was just walking around and he sat down to drink some gin, according to an affidavit.Robinson was taken into custody without incident, and charged with being a felon in possession of a weapon. Police said he had a felony drug conviction on his record.
Bond was set at $10,000.
