23-Year-Old Man Charged In Robbery Of Pizza Delivery Driver
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A 23-year-old man has been charged with robbing a pizza delivery driver last week in south Nashville.
Metropolitan Nashville Police Department’s South Precinct detectives arrested Xavier Eugene Ellison and charged him with aggravated robbery for last Monday night’s holdup of a Papa John’s Pizza delivery driver.
The 18-year-old victim told police he was making a delivery at the M building of Harding Glen condos on Tampa Drive around 6:30 p.m., but no one answered the door.
When he walked away, a gunman came from around a corner and demanded the driver’s belongings. The victim gave the robber $20 in cash and a pepperoni pizza before running to his vehicle.
The investigation led to identifying Ellison as a suspect, and the victim identified him in a lineup.
Police said Ellison remains under investigation in connection with two similar cases involving pizza delivery drivers on Tampa Drive this month.
He was held at the Metro Jail in lieu of $80,000 bond.
