Police: Man Shoplifted Laundry Detergent At Least 2 Days In Row

CREATED May 16, 2014

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man was arrested for allegedly shoplifting laundry detergent from the same store at least two days in a row.

Police stopped 43-year-old David Lovitt behind the Dollar General on Murfreesboro Pike because he fit the description of a man who had stolen merchandise from the store the day before.

Surveillance video caught Lovitt walking out of the back door, which is for employee use only, with a cart loaded with laundry detergent on two different occasions.

Once in custody, Lovitt admitted to three crimes, but police said the store had not reported a third one. Police said he was wearing the same clothing in all of the burglaries.

Lovitt was charged with two counts of burglary. His bond was set at $10,000.
