LEBANON, Tenn. – A house in Wilson County was destroyed by fire early Friday morning.
A Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper spotted the blaze from Interstate 40 just before 12:30 a.m. When firefighters got to the home in 10,000 block of Bluebird Road, just north of Watertown, it was engulfed in flames.
With no fire hydrants near the home, crews were forced to truck in water up a long driveway to the top of this hill.
The home was considered a total loss.
The fire department said no one was living at the home, and it had been recently sold in an auction to new owners from Georgia.
No injuries were reported.
The fire was believed to have started in the carport, and could be considered suspicious since no one lived there and the power was not turned on.
The fire rekindled later in the morning, so firefighters returned to the scene to put out hot spots in what was left of the structure.
