Father Arrested For Allegedly Trying To Pick Up Child While Drunk
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A father from Rutherford County has been arrested after he allegedly tried to pick his child up from school while under the influence of alcohol.
Officials with the Murfreesboro Police Department said 48-year-old Brandon Patrick was arrested Wednesday, after the child refused to get in the car with him because he was allegedly intoxicated.
Authorities were called to the scene to perform a welfare check on Patrick and discovered his Jaguar on Warrior Drive in Murfreesboro.
He was reportedly driving the car with an expired license plate.
Police said he refused to take a field sobriety test.
Patrick was taken into custody, and charged with DUI and implied consent. He was booked into jail on $2,500 bond. A court appearance has been scheduled for July 23.
