School Bus Catches Fire With Students On Board

WATERTOWN, Tenn. - A school bus from White County caught fire Monday afternoon with students on board.

The bus was traveling on Highway 96 in Watertown around 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon when the fire broke out.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says the school bus driver smelled smoke and pulled over to check the situation.  He immediately saw that the bus was on fire.   

The driver, along with other adults on board, safely evacuated all 44 students from the bus.  No one was injured.

The Watertown fire department responded to the scene. The school bus was a total loss.

No word on what caused the fire.
