Custody Dispute Leads To Father Being Attacked By Group
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A custody dispute ended with a father being attacked by a large group of people.
It happened outside a home in the 700 block of South 6th Street in east Nashville last month.
According to police, the victim went to pick up his child at the home, but his ex-girlfriend refused to answer the door. He had brought some other family members due to past issues when attempting to pick up his child.
After calling police, the victim and his family members waited outside the home when one of them got into an argument with a member of the ex-girlfriend’s family.
That’s when seven male juveniles showed up at the house and a fight broke out.
The victim was knocked to the ground while attempting to break up the fight. He was then allegedly punched and kicked several times.
Police arrested at least one person, 19-year-old Aaron Ward, and charged him with aggravated riot, assault, and seven counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. It was unclear whether the seven juveniles were arrested, as that information is not made public.
