Man Shot During Robbery Outside Home In La Vergne

LA VERGNE, Tenn. – A man was shot during an apparent robbery in the driveway of his Rutherford County home on Sunday night.

Around 8:30 p.m., police said a man was outside the home on Herman B. Rader Drive, near Floyd Mayfield Drive and Anna Gannon Drive, not far from Veterans' Memorial Park in La Vergne.

Officials with the La Vergne Police Department said the victim was approached by multiple people near his car in the driveway of his home. 

The motive for the shooting appeared to be a robbery attempt. Several shots were reportedly fired during the incident. 

The shooter fled the scene on foot. It was not immediately known how many suspects were involved in the shooting. 

The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was said to be in stable condition. 

Police said they are pursuing multiple leads in the case.
