State Of Emergency Ends In Lincoln County After April Tornado
LINCOLN COUNTY, Tenn. – The State of Emergency in Lincoln County has ended after a strong tornado tore through the area in late-April.
Officials with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency said the State Emergency Operations Center in Nashville returned to normal on Sunday, for the first time since the storm.
They said there are no longer any safety issues or unmet needs as a result of the damage.
On April 28, an EF-3 tornado ripped through the county, killing two people and wounding others. South Lincoln Elementary School was badly damaged in the storm and will be closed until next year.
Students in the area returned to school on May 5, one week after the storms went through the area.
