Dollar General Building Habitat For Humanity Home In 7 Days
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Dollar General plans to build a Habitat for Humanity house in seven days.
They started the project Thursday morning in the community of Park Preserve. Dollar General is sponsoring Shakina Ridley and her son, who will live in the home.
Ridley said the apartment they lived in was too cramped, and the neighborhood too dangerous. The home will play a major part in helping her family.
"It really does break that cycle of poverty for that family. But, even more, it kind of gives them just that extra hand up that they need cause they're right on the cusp,” said Lauren Lane with Habitat for Humanity.
The dedication for the house will be held Friday, May 16.
