Sumner Co. Bus Driver Arrested On Aggravated Sexual Battery Charges
SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. – A Portland bus driver has been arrested for alleged inappropriate touching of a young girl on board a Sumner County school bus.
Portland Police arrested 47-year-old Jerry M. Dean Friday on three counts of aggravated sexual battery.
Sumner County School Administration contacted Portland Police Friday about the incident. After reviewing bus surveillance, they confirmed the inappropriate contact happened on the bus while parked at an elementary school in Portland. No other students were presents.
Police said they believe the abuse was isolated to the victim, who is related to Dean. No other students have been harmed.
Dean's bond was set at $200,000.
