NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Big business could soon be pouring millions of dollars into an effort to put Republicans in control of Tennessee's justice system.

And NewsChannel 5 Investigates has obtained what could be part of the plan.

Three Democratic appointees to the Tennessee Supreme Court face a yes-no vote in August over whether they should be retained.

The plan, obtained by NewsChannel 5 Investigates, outlines possible points of attack on the three judges -- a plan that even a prominent Republican lawyer calls dangerous.

"This is an attack -- an unwarranted, unjustified attack -- on the independence of the judiciary," said Lew Conner, a former appeals court judge.

So is it really an attack on justice?

You'll see the plan and hear from both sides as NewsChannel 5 investigates. That's TONIGHT at 6 p.m.
