Man Charged With Burglarizing South Nashville Business
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man was arrested Friday, for allegedly burglarizing a South Nashville business.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said Marcus Duane Covington has been arrested for breaking into the Al Rasoul Market, located on Elysian Fields Road.
Surveillance video showed a male suspect throwing a brick into the front door of the business. Police later spotted someone who resembled the suspect seen in the video at a bus stop on Nolensville Pike.
Covington, who has a lengthy arrest record, was taken into custody at the scene. Police said he later admitted to breaking into the business and stealing $66.
He was charged with one count of burglary and booked in lieu of $40,000 bond.
Since 1985, he has been charged with 193 various offenses.
