Jackson Man Indicted In Uncle's Beating Death
JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) - A Jackson man has been indicted on charges of second-degree murder and tampering with evidence in the beating death of his 71-year-old uncle last year.
The Jackson Police Department said 37-year-old Travis Brint was indicted Monday in the death of Lofel Bonds on Oct. 26. Brint was being held at the Madison County Jail on $250,000 bond and scheduled for arraignment next Monday. Online jail records did not indicate whether Brint is represented by a lawyer.
Police said Bonds was found dead inside an outbuilding where he lived behind Brint's house.
Police said Bonds was hit with a lamp and a stick and died of blunt force injuries. Brint is accused of removing the broken lamp from the scene.
