Man Charged In Hit-And-Run Crash That Injured Pedestrian
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian injured earlier this month.
Clarksville Police arrested 30-year-old Scott Lee Murphy on outstanding warrants on Tuesday night. During an interview, he allegedly admitted to driving the vehicle that struck 18-year-old Dashawna Saunders while she was crossing Tiny Town Road on the night of April 4.
Saunders was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where she was expected to recover from injuries.
Murphy told police that fled the scene because he was scared and unsure of what he struck that night. He was also aware of his outstanding warrants.
A check of Murphy’s driver’s license number found it was revoked for DUI in September 2007.
Murphy was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a revoked license. He was booked into the Montgomery County jail and held on $15,000 bond.
