North Nashville Home Destroyed By Fire; Firefighter Hospitalized
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A firefighter was hospitalized while fighting a fire that destroyed a north Nashville home on Tuesday night.
Fire crews reported heavy smoke and flames when they arrived to the home in the 11000 block of Bell Grimes Lane just before 10 p.m.
A family of four was able to escape the home without injury. One family member apparently found flames in the pantry, and alerted everyone.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire quickly, but the right side of the home suffered the most damage. The entire home suffered smoke and water damage, making it a total loss.
The firefighter who was hurt was taken to Skyline Medical Center with minor injuries. His name was not released.
Officials said the fire started in the hot water heater.
